Talk of the Town

Longtime residents honored

Tonya and Tom Largy will be honored by OARS3rivers as it celebrates its 40th anniversary. OARS is highlighting former staff, long-time volunteers who helped shape the organization, as well as new supporters.

Tonya Largy is one of the original board members and founders of OARS and is currently serving as the organization’s first executive director. Her husband, Tom, dedicated numerous hours as a volunteer alongside Tonya, and is an avid fisherman in our three rivers. To learn more, see oars3rivers.org/tonya-tom-largy.

OARS is a nonprofit watershed organization founded in 1986 in eastern Massachusetts, dedicated to protecting and restoring the Sudbury, Assabet, and Concord rivers. They work to improve water quality, remove old dams, manage invasive species, and provide recreational access to the 399-square-mile watershed.
