The Wayland Post, a nonprofit community newspaper, seeks a detail-oriented reporter to cover local government, schools, and community issues. Responsibilities include attending evening meetings, reviewing agendas and public documents, and producing accurate, fact-based articles on deadline.
Qualifications: Strong writing and reporting skills; ability to work independently; familiarity with municipal government preferred. Prior editing experience or demonstrated news judgment is a plus.
Compensation: Stipend per article; consistent contributors have opportunity for regular assignments. Additional compensation or expanded role for candidates taking on editing responsibilities. Consistent contributors have opportunities for regular assignments and editorial growth.

Advertising Sales

The Wayland Post is seeking a motivated individual to grow advertising and sponsorship revenue. Responsibilities include outreach to local businesses, developing ad packages, and building long-term relationships with community partners.
Qualifications: Strong communication skills; sales or marketing experience preferred; self-starter comfortable working independently.
Compensation: Commission-based with recurring revenue share.
