Wayland Post adjusts summer publication schedule

The Wayland Post will skip its July 24 print edition as part of a temporary summer schedule adjustment. The next planned print edition is Aug. 7, followed by Aug. 28 and Sept. 11, though breaking news will be posted on www.waylandpost.org as events dictate.

The decision reflects the practical reality of producing a small community newspaper during the summer. Reporters, editors, photographers, interns, contributors, and volunteers all face vacation schedules, while many town boards, school groups and civic organizations slow their meeting calendars. Rather than publish an edition with fewer stories or a thinner level of coverage, the Post chose to pause one print issue and return with stronger August editions.

The schedule change affects the physical newspaper delivered to homes and businesses. The Post may continue publishing timely updates online, at www.waylandpost.org, during the gap, depending on news developments and staff availability.

Summer is also a time to prepare for the fall, when town government, schools, local events, and civic debates become more active.

Readers are encouraged to keep sending news tips, letters, photos, calendar items and story ideas to help keep Wayland informed.
