There will be a prayer service on Saturday, July 11, 2026 at 11 a.m. at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road in Wayland, for Irene Marie (Gennaro) McDaniel, 74, of Holliston, who died peacefully on June 30, 2026.
She was the daughter of the late Nicholas V. and Marie J. (Basile) Gennaro; loving and devoted mother of Michelle A. Cooper and her husband Christopher of Woonsocket, R.I., and Michael F. McDaniel and his wife, Kelly of Holliston; beloved sister of Doreen Lewis and her husband Robert of Sudbury and Dominic Gennaro and his wife Jean of Cochituate; and cherished grandmother of Jarred Cournoyer and his partner, Desi Peloquin of Blackstone, and Audrey McDaniel and Anna McDaniel of Holliston. She was the wife of the late Frederick J. McDaniel, who died in 1991, and devoted partner of Ronald F. Mercuri, who died in 2017.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 10 at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home. The July 11 service will be followed by interment in the McDaniel family plot in Lakeview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, her family suggests that memorial gifts in Irene’s memory may be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association of MA/NH, 320 Nevada St. #201, Newton, MA 02460.
