Daniel Joseph Bache passed away after a brief illness on April 1, 2026.
Daniel leaves his beloved wife, Joanne (Buell) Bache, whom he met in 1955 at Natick’s Dug Pond, and married in 1956 – and the pride of his life, four precious sons; David Daniel of Clearwater, FL and his wife Julie; Daniel Dean of Wayland and his wife Jane; Douglas Joseph of Boxborough; Dennis Michaael of Mirimar Beach, FL and his wife Dana. Grandchildren, Alyssa-Bache Johnson and her husband Robert of FL; Daniel J. and his wife Lisa of RI; Emily of TN; Kyle and his wife Katelyn of NH; Kristen of NH; Ryan and fiance Jenna of Texas; and Caroline of Montana; great-grandchildren Nelliel and Lylah of Florida: Isaak, Sofia, Isabel and Daniel Jr. of Rhode Island; and Giovanni of New Hampshire.
Daniel was predeceased by his brothers Thomas and his wife Joan of Yarmouthport, James and his wife Joan of Florida, and sister Sally (Bache) Fannon and husband Luke of Yarmouth; and many treasured Fannon, Liveley, Horne, Buell and Bache nieces, nephews and cousins. He was the son of Thomas R. Bache of Carver Hill Court, South Natick, and Maryanne (McConologue) Bache of Donegal, Ireland. Danny was raised by his beloved Grandmother, Minnie Bache of South Natick. He was proud to share dual Irish citizenship, being the grandson of Daniel McConologue of Donegal, Ireland.
He was born in Natick May 7, 1933, attended Eliot School in South Natick, Coolidge Jr. High School, and graduated from Natick High School, class of 1951. He and his pal Dave worked along with many young friends of the time at Lookout Farm in South Natick. Entertainment during those years was swimming and skating on the Charles River, playing basketball with CYO friends and the Stigmatine Brothers at Elm Bank, watching television at the South Natick Fire Department, and hanging out at Cooper’s Drug store for ice cream. In 1953, Daniel enlisted in Army and served in Military Intelligence and Supply in Austria and Germany during the Korean Conflict. In honor of his service, he was proud to be part of the Military Dedication of Service of the Bache Family Square in South Natick. He and his wife resided in South Natick, Framingham, Medway and over 60 years in Wayland, and spent brief vacations at places owned in New Smyrna Beach, Fla., Yarmouth, Mass., and Bradford, N.H.
After returning from the service, Daniel (“Danny”) was employed by florist John C. Barr of South Natick and the U.S. Postal Service in Framingham. He retired from the Post Office after thirty-eight years, leaving some great friends. He talked of his Irish golf trips to County Cork and visits to Galway and Cliffs of Moher. He and Joanne treasured most their sons, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Danny always enjoyed special golf tournaments with Chuck and other friends, golfing weekly in Northboro, group trips to Florida, Lake Morey, Vt., and the “annual fun father-son tournaments” in Natick. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion, the Elks, and the AMVETS and he and his easy-going, happy way of life will surely be missed by all who shared his proud Irish life.
