1776 – the Musical: A Concert Version

Join us for a concert version of the award-winning musical “1776,” which dramatizes the debates and personalities behind the signing of the Declaration of Independence. The show follows the members of the Continental Congress –most notably John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, and Benjamin Franklin – as they argue, negotiate, and ultimately unite around the decision to declare independence from Britain. The show offers an engaging and often humorous look at the political process that produced one of the nation’s founding documents.
Vokes Theater Players and Wayland High School students perform the sometimes funny and sometimes poignant songs that tell the story of our nation’s founding. Tickets are $10 and available at tinyurl.com/WHS-1776.

Weaving the Wrack Line

Join fiber artist and ocean activist Rebecca McGee for an interactive weaving workshop that transforms marine debris and reclaimed materials into meaningful works of art. As part of Arts Wayland’s Eco Month, participants will learn simple weaving techniques on frame looms, experiment with alternative materials, and create a small weaving that reflects both personal creativity and environmental stewardship. From Canopy to Ground Layer: Building Soft Landings with Keystone Plants for Pollinators

This free webinar explores the connection between keystone plants and the insects that depend on them. You’ll learn how to implement “Soft Landings” in landscapes of all scales, from home gardens to larger managed sites. This innovative habitat design and management strategy focuses on creating lush, drought-tolerant mini-ecosystems beneath native trees to support pollinators throughout their life cycles. Participants will learn what defines a pollen specialist, discover examples of these fascinating bee-plant relationships, and understand how keystone plants function as foundational species in our ecosystems.
