With record-breaking temperatures expected across Greater Boston this week, the Town of Wayland has announced cooling locations for residents who need relief from the heat.
An Extreme Heat Watch is in effect from Wednesday through Friday, and officials are urging everyone to limit time outdoors, stay hydrated, and check on older adults, neighbors, and anyone without adequate air conditioning.

Wayland Public Library
? 5 Concord Road
Hours: Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Closed Friday and Saturday for the July 4 holiday.
Wayland Public Safety Building
? 38 Cochituate Road
The Training Room will be open 24 hours a day through Wednesday at 8 a.m. and may be used whenever the library is closed.
Residents are encouraged to seek air-conditioned spaces during the hottest parts of the day and watch for signs of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
